Being born and raised in the California Bay Area makes it difficult to leave. At its core it's a beautiful land, with great forests, mountains, the ocean, wonderful weather and the diverse city of San Francisco. You must remember these simple joys as you sit in traffic. Alex Johnson was born and raised in Los Altos, CA. Artistically inspired by many people but mostly his mother, he began photographing in high school and studied at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and with Galen Rowell, a great adventure photographer.
